Day 89/365: Eating establishments.

I'm going to try really hard to get this entry to submit properly, but Firefox seems to have issues wanting to actually show the pictures I try to post. I might be reduced to using Internet Explorer.

The best bar ever, in Ames. It was called Sgt Peppers, but I don't know if it's still there.

Day 88/365: Earth.

Today, you are actually getting new pictures. I took them like, ten days ago, but I haven't posted them anywhere before today so... for all intents and purposes, they are new.
(Seriously, this is the last day I submit these entries in Firefox. It's a pain in the ass.)

But yeah. Tomorrow's theme is "eating establishments", and I really don't know what the hell I'm going to post for that.

Day 87/365: earrings.

Today, you are only getting a few pre taken pictures. I'm sorry about that, but I've had a really shitty day. Well. Parts of it were good, but I felt shitty. That was partly due to my allergies and partly due to a small melodramatic breakdown I had today.

Anyway, to make up for using old pictures, I am including a few unrelated ones. However, firefox is being a stupid ass, so I'm linking to them all because for some reason my picture posting isn't working.

I'm sorry. I just feel too shitty and tired right now to give a crap about fucking around with the picture post.
Tomorrow's theme is "earth", and I should be able to crank out something new for that.

Day 86/365: Dreams.

I had most of today's piece finished yesterday, thankfully. Today wasn't a real artsy fartsy day. Actually I spent a majority of today feeling like I couldn't quite wake up. I imagine part of that is due to my allergies, which have been particularly bothersome today.

I can't imagine that most of you give a crap, but I start my newspaper delivery route on Monday. There's no turning back now. I've signed papers, talked with the newspaper guy, and I've already been given a big bag of rubber bands, and some little plastic bags for when it's rainy out.

I'm still nervous. For one thing, the papers have to be delivered by 6:30. So this might mean that I actually have to get up at 4:30 instead of 5am. That would only allow an hour and a half for putting a rubber band around each paper, loading them up, biking out to the area my route is in, AND delivering all the papers. It doesn't really allow for any houses that it's hard to find.
Buuut. I'm finishing that little rant on my food journal, so no need to rehash it here.

I got this idea while browsing for photoshop tutorials. I don't actually have photoshop, but I figure I can apply the concepts to other image editing software. I had considered making the entire word "dreams" in this style, but that took long enough as it is, and I just wasn't in the mood to have to piece together five more huge letters full of words.

That's pretty much it. I'm grumpy and tired so I'm not going to bother telling you what tomorrow's theme is. I'm not in the fucking mood.

(Okay. I am being forced to use Firefox  because my google chrome is giving me problems. Is it normal that I have to press shift when I hit the enter key? Because if I don't, the cursor just jumps halfway up my page and lands in a random bit of text. It's irritating).

Day 85/365: doubt.

Today, in a strange movement of being well prepared, I actually finished a good chunk of tomorrow's art, as well as took a couple pictures for today's.

Don't get used to that sort of forward thinking. It won't be too long before I'm getting up at 5am to deliver newspapers so... I imagine that will be weird. I'm kind of hoping I can get a couple hours of sleep when I get back home from delivering, but I'm not good at sleeping when it's light out, so we'll see how that works.

Anyway.

Yep. I pretty must just wrote on a leaf with a ball point pen and took a picture of it.

I'm not sure why I liked this coloring. Usually I'm not for such harsh contrast in a colored photo. I usually reserve high contrast in black and white pictures.

I decided to save you all from posting any extra old photos. Besides. I might need to use those later on a day that I'm not feeling so artsy.

Tomorrow's theme is "dreams", and marks the last "d" word on my art list.

Day 84/365: doors.

Today I fudged the rules and made today's picture include the word "door".

It's just a flimsy little "s", I figure you won't miss it.

I don't know if I like it. I don't have much experience with, nor am I very good at graphic design-y things. This is basically my first experiment of this nature, so be nice to me.
I actually don't know if I like it much. I think I need to move the last three words over. I may try doing that when I actually give a shit, but considering that I'm exhausted and my allergies are thoroughly kicking my ass, I'm going to leave it be.

And now, a couple of unrelated pictures I forgot about that I ran across while searching for pictures to use for today's piece.

But yeah. That's today's entry. Tomorrow's theme is "doubt".

Day 83/365: Don't Wait Up.

Today, I really haven't been online that much. And the few sketches I did do today looked like shit, and I really couldn't come up with any ideas that I liked.

Today was just a weird, lazy day at home. It's rare that all four of us are home at the same time, for most of a day. My morning is a blur, probably due to the allergy pills. I took some allergy pills this morning only to find later that they were not marked "non drowsy".
I had to have three huge glasses of coffee + milk to even feel half awake. It is not fun when you feel unbearably tired and you haven't yet figured out why.

This afternoon my parents went out to buy a new printer. Ours has been acting up literally for years, but we keep putting off getting a new one. While my parents were out, my brother and I watched Aladdin. We're on a mission this summer to rewatch a lot of our old favorite movies from childhood. We're Back, Rock a Doodle, The Land Before Time, and FernGully are just a few of the possible choices, probably along with Disney stuff like The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.

After dinner, the family watched "Unstoppable" or whatever the movie is called, about the runaway train that had cars of toxic, flammable chemicals on board. It was a damn good movie. Better than I expected.

But yeah. Enough babbling. Now onward with the art.
You're getting old pictures because... just because. For most of the day, I was busy doing real life things and or being in an allergy pill induced haze, and even now there is a huge pile of dishes in the kitchen that I still have to do tonight before I get to bed. That's why you're getting old pictures.

We're going to get the first picture out of the way because, let's face it, I look weird in it.

That would be me and the drummer of a Styx/REO/Journey tribute band called Arch Allies. He gave me a drum stick. So I was pretty starstruck about that. I also found him very adorable and probably noticed me stealing glances at him throughout their entire show. Sadly, he's got a girlfriend, and honestly you can't tell here but he's old enough to be my father. I can't help it. I like older guys so much that when a guy my age is interested in me, I go "Ew, isn't he a little too young?" or I feel like a pedo for liking guys my age.

This would be my old high school friend Suzie at her wedding. This is one of very few pictures of mine that I use flash (AHHHHHHH! Sorry. Queen reference). Usually I feel like the flash screws up pictures and just makes a general mess of things, but here it worked.

Now, this was technically a Christmas bow, but it could really be interpreted as being for any gift giving occasion.

You have already seen this picture in a photomanipulation, but this is the original.

I took this with an old camera that had a broken screen, and no viewfinder. Basically I was shooting blind. Most of the time, that arrangement didn't produce decent macro shots. Considering the circumstances, I think this turned out pretty well.

A picture of my mini mannequin that I messed about with in Photoshop I believe. It was at the college I used to go to, in a computer lab. I can't afford Photoshop, and anyway, it feels really foreign to me because I'm used to the Paint Shop Pro series.

There was a bunch of foul weather once when I was working at the seasonal restaurant I have washed dishes at for several summers. I didn't edit this at all. It was super dark all on its own.

I don't often get decent evening shots, because I can't hold my camera still enough and I don't own a tripod.

I apologize about using old pictures. Tomorrow's theme is "doors", and you can be sure you'll get new material for that.
