Day 113/365: flags.

Today I've felt like crap. I did throw together something new for you, just a little doodle in MS Paint. I did want to take a couple hours to make something for today's theme, but I was literally hit by a 4 hour long wave of cramps this morning. It was literally four hours before they started to go away. It was hell.

But enough about that.

I used google image search to look at a bunch of random flags and then I threw something together. It's simple but I like it.

Tomorrow's theme is "flare", and I will try my very hardest to make something new that I've actually spent a couple solid hours on, but if I get more cramps like I had today, don't count on it.

Day 112: Fences.

Sorry I had to skip around in the theme list a bit. I know I told you this before, but I misread the list and accidentally did the two themes before realizing I skipped "fences", so here it is. Tomorrow's theme will be back on schedule, thankfully.

It was March (several years ago) when this picture was taken, but it was an exceptionally great day for temperatures, which is why my brother is in a tee shirt.

A pinecone on a fence. Fuck you spellcheck. Pinecone is now one word, because I feel like making it one.

Taken on the way to meet up with family for Christmas one year. I love how the fence just looks like it's speeding on by.

Taken on a car trip to celebrate Christmas or something with the grandparents and aunt and uncle one year. Can't remember.

Just means that the lake doesn't have lifeguards, since the town has a pool now.

Tomorrow's theme is "flag".

Day 111/365: Fire.

Day 111's theme was supposed to be "fighter". I misread the list and accidentally skipped "fences", which was before "fighter" in the list, so "fences" will be tomorrow's theme.

My friend Vanessa waving sparklers around.

My friend Vanessa again, playing with a sparkler.

This is a quote I liked that I found while randomly browsing for quotes online.

Day 110/365: Fighter

I was gone for most of Saturday and almost all of today, so that's why this is late.

Day 110's theme was supposed to be "fences", but I misread the list and prepared entries for the two themes on the list after "fences". This entry is Saturday's entry. The next entry will be today's entry. Fences will be tomorrow's theme. I hope that's not too confusing. XP

Now, today's old pictures relate to this theme in strange ways, but you'll have to bear with me. I'm tired, sore, and don't really give a shit right now.
I know you're sick of hearing this but I'm having a hard time continuing this blog. I hardly ever have the motivation to make new art anymore, so I just end up reusing shit or throwing something together in MSPaint so I have something to post.

No wonder nobody reads this shitty blog.

Anyway. I want to get shit over with so I can go to bed. I'm fucking tired.

Love is something you really have to fight for sometimes.

Being wise is certainly something that takes a great deal of effort and I imagine that can be a fight at times.

The things this man (Rick Allen, of Def Leppard) has had to endure are horrific. He had an arm bludgeoned off by a seat belt and was getting gangrene after doctors tried unsuccessfully to re-attach the arm. Also his other arm got broken really bad. He really is an amazing man, and I'm not just saying that because he's a celebrity crush of mine, I mean it.

Keith Moon. He was an incredible little ball of energy but he had so many issues and I'm just sad to think that he was taken from us in 1978 at age 32.

I'm sure you know my opinion on war. There are certain times that I think we have had to defend ourselves, but other times that war seems like a pointless, completely avoidable shitstorm. I support the troops and have a great deal of respect for veterans, however. Whenever I see an old man wearing a "Vietnam/WWII/etc veteran" cap or something, I want to salute them but I'm afraid they'll give me a weird look and wonder if I'm mildly retarded.

I know I've posted this before but I wanted to again because I really feel for Steve Clark (of Def Leppard). He was adorable and brilliant but was sadly overcome by his personal demons.

Peace is great to think about ideally but I'm truthfully scared that it will never happen. I'm not sure people know how to live in peace.

Day 109/365: Feline Friends.

I am using old pictures today. I hope that's not a problem. I'm too tired to make any new art. When I'm tired, my writing tends to get better (as applied to my fanfiction, some poetry, some random prose) but I'm not great at giving a shit about my visual art when I'm tired. XD

Also, we don't have a cat... If we did I might have taken some new pictures for you.

So, tomorrow afternoon we're leaving for Des Moines, and we'll be gone until Sunday night. I will still be making something new, but you might not get the update for a day or two. There's a small possibility I'll be able to post tomorrow, but I kind of doubt it.

Anyway I'm going to get on with posting the art so I can wind down and get to bed.

Day 108/365: Feathered or feathers.

Today, I chose to doodle a bird in MS Paint with a bit of help from GIMP.

The bird was really just an experiment... and I guess the text was too. I'm not very good at graphic design stuff, or rather I haven't done too much of it, so I don't have that much experience in that area.
This would be fun to redo, but the bird as it is took me a couple hours to do and I really don't feel like giving it another go tonight.

Today was pretty good as days go. We got new phones. We were two months away from our contract being up so we just went ahead and got new phones. I like mine. It's the same brand as my old one and the screen and stuff is basically the same, only it's a clamshell flip phone. When it's closed, it's a frickin square. It looks pretty chic.

Other than that the only notable thing I did today was go grocery shopping with my mother. XD We might pop some popcorn and watch a movie.

Also, I get to go to the gay pride parade in Des Moines, and that's on Sunday, so not only do I not have to deliver the mammoth Sunday paper, I get to be surrounded by gay people.
Seriously, I love gay people. I don't understand how anybody can NOT like LGBT folks.
I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to dress for that. I want to paint my nails rainbow colors and either find or make a pin that says "Straight but not narrow" and pin that on my bag. I might use some of the blue/purple manic panic semi permanent hair dye that I have. I'm not sure. I'd love to wear my red chucks, but those are hell to walk a parade in (speaking from past experience) so I'll probably just wear flip flops or some junk.

Anyhoo.

Tomorrow's theme is "feline friends".

I'm off to go grab some dinner. TTYL.

Day 107/365: Fear.

Today I'm doing a bit of cheating. As you may recall, day 77 was "death", and I drew a sugar skull for that. Today, since the theme was "fear", I chose to reuse the outline of that skull in a little MS Paint doodle that came to me out of nowhere.

I would love to see a better version of this as a large oil painting by someone. XD
The font I used is called "1942 report" and can be found for free online. I also used it in the Memorial Day piece I did.

It seems silly to fear something like death, since it inevitably happens to everyone, but since I was a kid, the thought that I will one day die has actually kept me awake at night. I think it's because I'm afraid nobody will remember me.
Also, I basically believe in reincarnation, and should that be the case, it's not as if I'll just die and then cease to exist in any form.
Nobody knows and it's pointless to speculate because none of us will ever find out for real until we die, but I make a habit of worrying about stupid shit. It's my undiagnosed anxiety disorder acting up. XD

It's a strange beast, really. When I feel good and happy, it's easy to dismiss those melodramatic times where I feel really awful and depressed.
Then you hit another spell and remember why they worry you so much in the first place.
I've pretty much evened out right now, but who knows. Today's been a weird roller coaster.

Anyhoo.
Tomorrow's theme is "feathered or feathers".
